For my friends working away from home; Distant Calling My body is miles away but the mind and heart stays at home, I wish my life away each day for all I can think of is being with you, Oh how I desire what most of the world takes for granted, To get up early and return home late if need be. I look in the mirror and see only the passing of time, This is not the person that arrived here, the years are taking their toll, All I have are pictures and voices to keep me motivated, Surely one day pure happiness will knock on my door? My children grow up without me, I am but the person who occasionally visits, Each time I leave it wrenches at my very soul, I do this for the good of my family because I want to give them the best, One day oh lord please let me go home to rest.
