For my last day in Martin Bradleys song challenge, I thought Id choose something Irish. Sources vary as to whether this folk song is Irish or Scottish in origin, though, and I hope Martin will forgive me for it being used in an eponymous film about Scotland (where I first heard it). Instead of referring to a specific place, like my previous choices, this song is a tribute to all the places Ive gone to in my life, for a longer or shorter period, always knowing where Im going (though as often as not the dear knows why I went there). I just found out that the film will be shown on the big screen in Helsinki on 17 and 21 March; need I add that I know where Ill be going then...?
