For my top three comic heroes of all time, Im going to start it off with a questionable one, but one who I stand by... 3) Magneto. Here was a guy who unwaveringly, absolutely stood for his cause with his every fiber. Some will say hes a villain, sure, but what one needs to understand is that everything he did, EVERYTHING, no matter how much people hated him for it, how much he sacrificed for it, he did for his people. Somebody who can selflessly withstand such immense scrutiny and criticism, who puts his own before himself, come what may, that there is a hero. 2) Im not usually a DC guy, but I gotta tip my hat to Batman. Hes a regular dude. Granted, hes filthy rich, but that almost makes him better in my opinion, because he never has to lift a finger, but instead hones his mind and body to become one of the greatest there ever was. This guy sits at a table with Superman, the Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Aqua Man among others, and nobody questions what a standard human is doing there, because hes arguably more powerful than all of them. Dont believe me? Read The JLA Tower of Babel. Batman is the pinnacle of man. 1) My number one comic hero of all time...Rorschach. This guy never bought into wearing tights and making headlines, never cared for merchandising or popularity. He saw evil and he destroyed it ruthlessly. He didnt compromise, he didnt hold back, he just annihilated, regardless of the odds stacked against him. Further, and this is my favorite part, his final act was one to lift up the people. Most heroes focus on lifting up themselves, or fighting off some galactic terror, but Rorschach was in the grimy streets, and wanted the best for the day to day citizens. Psychotic? Sure, but in the best of ways.
