For nigh on 40 years, this lovely view was obscured by one of the most horrible buildings in Aberdeen. Saddly, this iconic image will be surrounded by an even larger development than the former eyesore, that the vast majority of Aberdeen were glad to have seen the back of. The development which will consist of retail units, offices and a hotel. Just minutes away from this site, is empty retail units, empty office space and empty buildings, more than suitable for hotel convertion. The redevelopment, or in most cases, the much cheaper option of converting some of these empty buildings, would create jobs and regenerate a very run down city centre. The Granite City will soon become the largest tribute to Willy Wonkas Glass Elevator.
