For our REFS, and those who want to be Referees. Being a Referee means being impartial, it means a lot of practice and studying, it means caring more about the Sport of Roller Derby than for any one team. Frankly, Roller Derby would be better off if more people set aside their egos for the sake of the sport, and Zebras are a model of that ethic! We do not cheer when teams are introduced, and we do not cheer for the winning team. During a bout we look all serious, but on the inside we are cheering for EVERY Skater on the track! We go to after parties and we congratulate both teams for playing a great game. Remember, When the Lions and the Tigers are duking it out on the track, it is the Zebras who are the higher power.
