For our next featured artist.....we will be examining some of the work of Eric Lewis, aka ELEW. Eric studied piano as a child and ultimately graduated from the Manhattan School of Music on the Deans List in 1995. In 1999, Eric won the Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition. Though Eric started out as an accomplished jazz pianist, he eventually decided to start his own genre of music which he calls Rockjazz. We featured Erics debut at Americas Got Talent a couple days ago. Eric also has performed at the White House for the President and First Lady....and has toured with many other famous musicians. Today we will take a look at one of ELEWs official videos, his cover of the Nirvana classic, Smells Like Teen Spirit. For the two people who may be unfamiliar with this song, I have included the original Nirvana video in the comments below. I think ELEW does a great job with this song, and Ive also included an ELEW live performance, so you can compare his live version and his official video version.
