For our players nominated for 7s. WRFU 7’s Meeting - Monday 19 August 2013 ASB Sports Centre Kilbirnie On behalf of the Wellington 7’s coaching and management staff congratulations on being nominated by your club to represent your province. This is an exciting time for 7’s rugby as it is quickly growing in popularity since its inclusion into the Commonwealth and now the Olympic Games. You have been given the opportunity to push for selection into the Wellington Provincial 7’s team now ranked behind the Wellington Lions, and become part of the redevelopment of the Wellington 7’s program that aims to win the National 7’s championship in January 2014. The first step of this is a meeting and testing phase at the ASB Sports Centre situated at 72 Kemp Street Kilbirnie, on Monday 19 August 2013. Due to the large number of player nominations this has been split into two groups. The following nominated club players are to attend at 6.00pm with a brief meeting with the coaching staff followed by beep and speed testing: - Poneke RFC - Wellington RFC - Old Boys University RFC - Oriental Rongotai RFC - Marist St Pats RFC - Western Suburbs RFC - Johnsonville RFC The following nominated club players are to attend at 7.00pm with a brief meeting with the coaching staff followed by a beep and speed testing: - Norths RFC - Petone RFC - Wainuiomata RFC - Hutt Old Boys Marist RFC - Tawa RFC - Upper Hutt RFC - Avalon RFC - Rimutaka RFC If for good reason you need to attend the different time slot allocated to your club please contact one of the management team to ensure we know who is attending at what time. If you are interested in playing but cannot attend this meeting you need to contact one of the management team otherwise we will see this as a sign you are not interested. Those players with injuries are expected to attend. Make sure you bring suitable clothing and shoes for testing as well as a drink bottle for water. The player nominations and allocated club timings will be placed on the WRFU website.
