For over 20 years I have tried to make potato soup like my mother. No cream cheese, heavy cream or frozen potatoes. I knew it had potatoes, milk and bacon but Mom never had a recipe she just MADE it. Every version I have made has been awful. UNTIL TONIGHT! I not only made it like Moms but dare I say better? It was her version jazzed up with some carrots and celery. Now I just need to try to write it down before I forgot how I did it!
