For over 40 years, my dad worked for The Star-Ledger as a pressman, first in Newark, then in the Piscataway plant. He always worked the midnight shift, inking down rollers and running the sheets of paper through, clearing all the jams and producing our news all night. Every morning, hed bring home a copy of his labor, and I would grow up reading The Star-Ledger every day. So what a profound joy and honor to find in the Sunday Ledger (yesterday) that my book, JACKLEG OPERA, was recognized as one of the top ten books by Jersey authors that the paper reviewed in 2014. My thanks to Jacqueline Cutler (the reviewer) for the kind recognition and to the editors for running the piece. And, of course, to my dad. Heres the piece from yesterdays Star-Leger:
