For people who are against gay marriages, please explain to me why you care. Dont say it is against the Bible unless you are prepared to prove that in every aspect of your life you follow everything thing written in the bible, and do you follow old or new testement etc. But more importantly answer to me how it affects your life. Because my life isnt affected by gay people having relationships, no more than my life is affect by anyone else having a relationship. So please explain to me why so much time and effort is being expended upon this issue, that really isnt an issue, and why it is alright to have a law that goes against the equal rights amendements. We can have rules that protect peoples right to a job, insurance, etc. But then we suspend those protected rights when it comes to a peice of paper. Because we are not talking about a religious marriage, we are talking about marriage in the sense of the state, a civil union is a better term....but it is a marriage license issued by the state. So why does it matter to you. Does what you neighbor watches on their TV next door to you affect you, what they search for on the internet affect your life, your job, anythig at all. So please...please explain this to me without saying it is what the bible says. This is a state issue, and the church isnt the governement. That is the true point of a separation of church and state.
