For perhaps the first time, a Fortune 500 company sent high level - TopicsExpress

For perhaps the first time, a Fortune 500 company sent high level VP management from Worldwide Headquarters to address the Guam Legislature for the benefit of the people of Guam. As Legislative Chairman of Aviation I heard many of your concerns (a few in email and phone calls, but most on social media =) and wanted to afford United Airlines an opportunity to address the legitimate safety concerns of our people. Working with Guam Managing Director Sam Shinohara, I extended an invitation through him for United to participate in a roundtable discussion with the Guam Legislature. United Airlines responded by flying in their VP of Safety Capt. Michael Quiello, and their Managing Director of Operations & Performance Mr. John Aynes to present the safety record of United relative to Guam operations and listen to the concerns of our people. The willingness for corporate office to have these high level managers make time to listen to the people and reiterate safety commitments is a major testament to how United values their Guam operations, and Guam customer base. I am confident that this process will continue to yield improved services and safety outcomes for our people in the future. It was our intent to afford the people of Guam a venue to have their concerns heard, and to further afford United Airlines an opportunity to present their perspectives as well. The hearing went very well. Thank you to the people of Guam for your active participation, and to the United Family for making time to listen and address the people of Guam. The work continues, to Build a Responsible Guam. Michael F.Q. San Nicolas
