For safety trip - Check FLOWER – Fuel, Lights, Oil, Water, Electrics and Rubber (tyres should be moderate inflated) - Check tyres pressure, lights, brake, battery backup and trip plan before starting a new trip - Take all the necessary items o Keys, driver license, RC book, Insurance, PAN card copy, Medical insurance card o User manual - For a long trip o Drive slowly, Full fuel, Extra money o First aid-kit, small bucket and mug etc o Carry food, water and snack (biscuit, chips etc) o Take a break every hour for fresh air and cool mind o Obey signals even if nobody exists o Carry pillow, blanket, towel, toothpaste, toothbrush o Keep a road map in the car for assistance and save fuel o Keep current day’s news papers o CDs, book, toys, playing cards o The more space you keep around your car, the less risk of collision o Use turn indicators at least 1 or 2 minutes before taking left/right turn o Paper, Pen, Pencil - Concentrate only on road because drivers don’t have any other job - Driver is responsible for passengers’ life - Fasten your seat belt and don’t drive when you are tired - Go slow, safely reaching 10 to 15 minutes later is not a big problem - Don’t drive the car when feeling sleepy, get out of car, take break, eat snack, get some fresh air etc - Fill more than enough Fuel - Recommended driving speed o 70 KMPH in national highway o 60 KMPH in state highway o 50 KMPH in village road o 40 KMPH in hills road (reduce air pressure on tyres) o 30 KMPH in town traffic o 20 KMPH in city traffic o 10 KMPH in starting stage - Stay focused on driving car - Vehicle maintenance is important, so go for oil service often - Park the car often to in-take better blood circulation and more oxygen - Eat only moderate amount of food when traveling - Look at four sides before over taking or level crossing - Avoid “Andimam” time travelling - More accidental zones are four roads, schools, crowded areas etc - Don’t operate music system when driving - Often look around and check the other vehicles - Never drink and drive - Keep distance from the vehicle in the front - Don’t speak to passengers much and get angry with others in the car - Minimize sudden start and stop, keep less weight and slow down to save fuel/money - More signs, more paint, more lights – all indicates history of more accidental areas - Park away from other vehicle for more visibility to other drivers - If less air on tyres, then more chances for burning tyres
