For sale: vintage Louet MOTORIZED Classic drum carder! The new motorized classic runs $2350! Im asking $1100 which includes insured shipping in the continental US. This thing works like a champ. I spoke with Louet and was told this carder is approximately 20 years old. I also asked about the possibility of upgrading to the new motor for the front panel with the power switch and was told it would not be a worth-wild expense as they still use the same motor and foot pedal system as this carder has. I use this carder so it has fuzz and dust in the pic, Ill give it a good cleaning prior to shipping so youll get it all clean and ready to use. Pros: crazy strong carding power, foot pedal for easy stopping and starting, the Classic cloth allows for production of not only fine batts with multiple passes, but also awesome chunky art batts can be made with ease. In great running condition. In great cosmetic condition. Cons: The belt is STRONG so rotating the drum for batt removal takes a little muscle power. Its a bit loud. The fan that cools the motor is a bit musty which I notice only during operation (I am very sensitive to smell in general, it doesnt bother my husband at all so it could be just me but want to mention it for full disclosure). Why am I selling you ask? In June I was diagnosed with colon cancer and have had 2 surgeries and 4 other procedures since then. On top of that my husband had emergency surgery earlier in the year. Medical expenses have forced months of missed work for my husband and with 5 kids, 1 grandbaby on the way, and the holidays coming up we just need the cash...since I have several carders I am selling this one as it is one of my more valuable carders.
