For several years, through the summer after high school - TopicsExpress

For several years, through the summer after high school graduation, Bryn was a member of an exceptional organization, The Oregon Childrens Choir and Youth Chorale, in the loving and gifted hands of Sandra Miller, founder and artistic director. Others are instrumental in the groups success, none more so than the extraordinary Sandy Henderson. The Choir became family, each young member and his or her parents equally joined and blessed. In the past couple of days, weve learned that a much loved member of that family has died, a remarkable young man, Bryan Kim. This video by Will Holmer of the 2003 trip to Germany, Austria and, specifically, Prague, features the entire choir, and Bryan is especially present, sharing moments with friends, just laughing, wearing a snake around his neck, face to face with a giant rabbit, playing coke bottles or with Sandy Miller. He was a special young man. As I watch these photos (in group shots, Bryn tends to be on the far right end of the front row, as you face the choir) I am moved to tears of sorrow for the loss of such a fine young life as well as in gratitude that such marvelous and deeply felt moments were there for the sharing, as songs I, and every OCCYC member or parent or audience knows by heart, play evocatively, bringing back so very many beloved memories. So Im sharing, realizing this may not mean as much to those who dont know every lovely face herein, but hoping something of the magic weve shared may touch you, just a little. Thank you, Will Holmer. Thank you Sandra Miller and Sandy Henderson. Thank you, Bryan Kim.
