For some of us in organized religion we had meeting-based - TopicsExpress

For some of us in organized religion we had meeting-based relationships, which we called community. People rolled in each week for a group meeting or class of some type and people interacted, often times inauthentically in their church persona. After the meeting, everyone went home and had little or no interaction with each other until they rolled in the following week to do it all over again. In reality, outside ones family, a person probably cannot have more than 2 or 3 substantial, authentic, mutually enriching and close relationships. Theres nothing wrong with this. Cultivate and maintain a couple good relationships like this, and do life with these people whatever that means for you. Dont feel guilty or burdened by the idea that you need to have more people in your life that somehow resembles your previous church arrangement.
