For some reason, I feel compelled to share songs with you, my friends, to give you a glimpse of certain stages in my life. Some songs, as they say, always make you think of a certain person or memory. I implore you all to share songs with me in the comments that speak to you on a memorial level. Todays song is Such Great Heights, as covered by Iron & Wine. This song is important to my life for two reasons. Firstly, my discovery of the song lends itself to Abbey, who, in 2009, thought it was an anthem suitable to describe our relationship at the time. After our relationship ended and I struggled to move forward, I found strength in this song and was able to sing it confidently to another girl in the following months.
