For some reason Im not able to upload the photos on this page this morning. Oh well...On the blogtalk radio show yesterday we talked about Cover Girls. Are you a Cover Girl? Read some of my story before you answer. When I was a little girl I would stay the night sometimes at my Big Mamas house. I can remember her beds being so tall, I would almost have to run and leap just to get in it. Every time I stayed, we went through this routine of her tucking me in. She would have those covers pulled back and then she would tuck me in. Big Mama just didnt have a sheet and a bedspread on the bed. No, she had COVERS. She would layer that sheet on me, come back and put that quilt on me, sometimes 2 of them, sometimes 3 , and then put that bedspread on top of me, especially in the winter. She didnt want me to get cold. She wanted me to be comfortable all tucked in. To make sure I was, she not only layered the covers on me, Big Mama would tuck the ends of the covers under the mattress. Around the bed she would go humming, pulling and tucking the covers under the mattress so I would be secure. Boy was I secure! She had me so tucked in I couldnt move because of the WEIGHT of the COVERS. I couldnt turn to the left nor to the right, I was lodged in one position because of the WEIGHT of the COVERS. I still can see my head peering from beneath the COVERS while my body was completely CONCEALED. My secure comfortable place had become a place of restriction and restraint. I can remember one time being tucked under the covers and needing to go to the bathroom, so I yelled, Big Mamma, I need to go to the bathroom! She got up with that , Didnt I tell you to go BEFORE you went to bed kinda look,but she didnt complain. Big Mamma, began to UNTUCK the COVERS. She began to UNCOVER me. She started to peel back all those layers of COVERS until I was no longer restricted. As she peeled off the COVERS, the WEIGHT started to ease up! I had MOVEMENT and FREEDOM and when the last COVER was removed, I had RESILIENCE on the inside of me, to SPRING BACK UP into my ORIGINAL FORM, to RECOVER from the WEIGHT and the RESTRICTION and MOVE again! What am I saying to you? Some of you are HIDDEN UNDER THE COVERS! You have layers and layers of COVERS on you! COVER OF SHAME! COVER OF REJECTION! COVER OF DOUBT! COVER OF FEAR! COVER OF ABUSE! COVER OF ADDICTIONS! COVER OF UNBELIEF! COVERS! YOUVE STOCKPILED COVERS AND YOURE TUCKED AWAY UNDER THE WEIGHT OF THE COVERS! YOUVE BECOME RESTRAINED AND RESTRICTED IN YOUR PURPOSE! YOUR DESTINY HAS NO MOVEMENT! YOUR EXISTENCE HAS NO LIFE BECAUSE YOURE COVERED AND CONCEALED! YOUR ISSUES HAVE BECOME YOUR IDENTITY! ITS A COVER UP! YOURRE CONCEALED IN PRETENSE, ITS A COVER UP! BUT GOD WANTS TO LIFT THE COVERS NOT TO EXPOSE YOU TO THE WORLD BUT TO REVEAL YOU TO HIMSELF SO THAT HE CAN CLEAN THOSE GUNSHOT WOUNDS THAT WE ONLY PUT NEOSPORIN ON! HE WANTS TO HEAL YOUR CONCEALED PLACES! HE WANTS TO DELIVER THE CAPTIVES FROM THEIR COVERS! HE WANTS TO DELIVER, UNTUCK YOU TODAY! WILL YOU LET HIM! COVER GIRLS ARE SO GOOD AT POSING FOR A STILL SHOT OF LIFE, THEY FAIL TO REALIZE THEYRE ONLY EXISTING. COVER GIRLS ARE HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT, COVERED BY THE RESIDUE OF THEIR THEN THAT IS STILL STAINING THEIR NOW. ARE YOU A COVER GIRL? IF YOU CANT LOVE YOURSELF AND BE WHO GOD CREATED YOU TO BE, THATS A COVER...GIRL! IF YOURE FILLED WITH SHAME AND LAYING IN SHEETS OF HOPELESSNESS, THATS A COVER...GIRL! IF LOW SELF ESTEEM HAS BECOME YOUR LOT AND NO VALUE IS NOW YOUR WORTH, THATS A COVER...GIRL! WHATEVER YOURE MODELING, WEARING THATS CONTRADICTORY OF WHO GOD CALLED YOU TO BE, DISROBE IT! TAKE THE COVERS OFF AND IF YOU CANT REMOVE THEM YOURSELF, I KNOW A MAN, HES THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD, JESUS CHRIST, HE WILL TAKE THE COVERS OFF! HELL REMOVE THE COVERS OF SIN! HELL STRIP EVERY FILTHY GARMENT FROM YOU AND ROBE YOU IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS SO THAT YOU CAN MODEL HIS GLORY IN THE EARTH! NOW, THATS A REAL COVERGIRL!!!
