For speaking his mind, he was relieved of his post. His estimate was 10,000 death tolls, while Aquinos was close to 2,500. NDRRMC says death toll nears 4000 while UN says 4460. If Elmer Soras was relieved because of his too high estimate, shouldnt Aquino be relieved too for his way way down estimate? Remember, death toll number is not final yet, they are still counting. Because of the slowness of relief and rescue efforts, I wouldnt be surprised if that 10,000 estimates was the correct estimate after all.
