For students their first day in college marks the beginning of a new phase of life. This may conjure up different feelings in different people. Some may be excited, some nervous and some a bit of both. There will be learners who are looking forward to the experience, and then there will be others whose feelings border on apprehension. The Orientation Programme 2014, organised by fraternity at Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, aimed to bring together learners, the excited and the apprehensive types alike, and give them a sense of what law school life is actually going to be like. In doing this, it intends to make sure that it doesn’t lose sight of the bigger picture – academic success that stems from well-rounded individuals pursuing their goals with single-minded determination. The Orientation Programme is divided into three parts – Part I – Introduction to Life at SLS NOIDA (Balance of Curricular, Co-curricular and Extra Curricular Activities) (July 01-02, 2014); Part II – Interaction with Symbian’s (July 05, 2014) and Part III – Fresher’s Welcome by Established Learners of Batch 2013-18 (Cultural Celebration) (July 12, 2014). Objective: During the course of the programme, we all including Faculty Members and Learners-Officer Bearers of various Cells attempted to school the new learners in the basics of life at SLS, letting them in on the guiding philosophy of the institute. We would like to thank Prof. Anshul Mittal and Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Kaul for organising the event. The event was well supported by learners fraternity including Mr. Vansh Khanna, Ms. Gayatri, Ms. Sanaa Krishan, Ms. Aastha Wadhawan, Mr. Saptrako Biswas, Ms. Arushi Moza, Mr. Parikshit Sharma, Mr. Parikshit, Mr. Prashant Lather, Ms. Jasveen Kaur, Ms. Riya Chopra, Mr. Dhritimaan Sen, Ms. Nimisha Nat Narayan, Mr. Gur Mohak Singh Chawla, and Mr. Argha Kumar Gena.
