For the 2014 program, NFCC is no longer “sponsoring” families - TopicsExpress

For the 2014 program, NFCC is no longer “sponsoring” families like they’ve done in the past. The new program is called the Santa Shop. The Santa Shop is stocked with toys (from donors like us), and the parents are allowed to “shop” for their children free of charge (along with guidelines established by NFCC). It allows the parents to be more involved in the selection process for their children’s gifts and strengthens the family unit, while allowing the parents to receive assistance while maintaining a level of dignity. NFCC expects to support 800 families or roughly 2,700 kids through the Santa Shop this year. I understand that some of you may be slightly disappointed with these new changes. However, the new Santa Shop program will be easier to manage, and therefore, I believe participation will be amazing this year. In addition, the changes provide many positive advantages to the parents and children….which is what matters the most, right?! :) Because of this change, we will not receive a family letter or wish list. Instead, they assigned children to each team based upon an age group and gender. We were assigned 4/6 boy, 8/10 girl, 14/18 boy We are asked to donate 2-3 toys per age/gender group above, 1 stocking stuffer for each age/gender group, 3 ($25) grocery store gift certificates, and 1 family gift. Along with donating gifts you also have the opportunity to volunteer in the Santa Shop. Please list how you would like to assist with the Holiday Sponsorship this year !!
