For the Air Souffrance campaign, an activist was locked in a cage for 24h, without food, in front of the Air France commercial agency in Toulouse from Friday June 7th at midday to denounce the shipping of animals to vivisection labs by the airline company. Air France - KLM is the biggest carrier of animals to labs in the world, and one of the last concerning primates. A lot of airline companies have already done the ethic choice to stop shipping animals to labs. For now, only 3 companies still transport monkeys for the vivisection industry : Air France - KLM, China Southern Airlines and Philippines Airlines. The north american company Air Canada fought for years against the vivisection industry and succeed in dissipating a 1998 decision of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), which forbid Air Canada to stop shipping primates. Air France - KLM has the choice, but still get involved in this sordid business. Vivisection in numbers : in France, 2 millions animals are killed every year, which represents an animal every 12 seconds. At a European level, an animal dies every 3 seconds. In the world, 25 animal die every second.
