For the Love of Strays is celebrating their 5th year today. Since I started rescuing I have seen sick dogs, mangy dogs, mangled dogs, neglected dogs, abused dogs come and go through this awesome organization. They pick up the worst shaped animals and bring them back to health with the strong support system they have acquired. When Thelma and Louise came into their program, I was lucky enough to foster them. Louise was in bad shape and because Ftlos took them in, their lives were spared and Louise got the surgery she desperately needed. This is just one story of one animal they have helped. Recently I was honored, by being asked to be on the board for Ftlos and soon realized how much goes on behind the scenes when networking, and vetting and finding foster homes and looking for donators and never really relaxing. The emails come through nonstop, the phone calls are never ending, the tagging for help and pleas are overwhelming yet, they take it in stride. How did I ever get so lucky to be a part of this stressful yet very very rewarding job? I dont know, but together with each and everyone who shares posts, tags, fosters, transports, trains, adopts and donates Ftlos has made a difference in each of the paws and heartbeats that come into our program. May we have many more years of helping the worst off to the most damaged to the become healthy and happy!!! Happy Birthday For the Love of Strays!!!
