For the Veterans, all of you. Im particularly proud of my family and their contributions to our country; my grandfather Wesley Smith, my father Wesley Smith Jr., my grandfather Harry Doyon, my cousins, friends, former students, former colleagues, and all whove demonstrated selflessness and served our Country. Ladies and Gentleman of our Armed Services, I admire your courage and your tenacity. This may be silly, but heres a video clip of something Brodie and I do each time we go the baseball diamond. Its how we begin, he wont let me throw a pitch until he or I sing the Star Spangled Banner. He understands the importance of it due to my insistence at the real sporting events we attend that he not talk, that he take off his hat, stand still, and honor the flag. Ive always been a strickler about it. He may not know the lyrics, but it is a small step towards instilling a sense of patriotism that I value. Thank you to all the Veterans and their families.
