For the blog - John Hepburn Perry @ Glenduart Cemetery! This headstone stands in Glenduart Cemetery - on a lovely, quiet bend overlooking the Moruya River. With the miracles of the internet I was quickly able to find that the the grave is that of John Hepburn Perry; born in 1802 in Glasgow. He was 5’ 8’’ tall with a ruddy, freckled complexion, dark brown hair and blue eyes.He had a small scar over his right eye and a large purple birth mark on the left side of the back of his neck. John Perry was a gardener in Aberdeen and a Presbyterian. He was also a convict, and given a life sentence for housebreaking at the Aberdeen Judiciary Court - along with his younger brother Peter. Much more of John Hepburn Perrys life ( and that of Peter) will be explored in a post on our blog. Keep an eye out for it!
