For the first hour and ten minutes of The Day of the Doctor, I didnt think it was any more special (plot wise) than The Three Doctors or The Five Doctors. It was okay and I didnt hate it (which is more than I could say for most Moffat!penned episodes), but I didnt *love* it either. And then the last four minutes happened. There may have been some very happy screeching coming from my room at 2 in the morning.
