For the first time, I am starting to see the effects of the dieing - TopicsExpress

For the first time, I am starting to see the effects of the dieing honeybee population. Knew this was coming so took steps in preparartion: intermingled more flowers, planted more native bloomers such as seed saved wild clover, avoided Monsanto et al seeds, made sure there was always something(s) blooming, allowed more native flowering weeds in garden, spaced plants closer to make less work for bees. In short, did.everything I could think of. Have seen 2 honeybees out there so far this year. The main garden inside the poultry netting is doing okay. Very full plantings. However, the plants just outside the poultry netting keep churning flowers but only about half are getting pollinated. And of those half, only an occasional flower is pollinated. It bothers me on a deep level to understand that even the best laid plans and executed actions are no match for what is transpiring.
