For the first time in a long time I have a not so fun post but at the same time a post related to why we started all this almost a year ago. We have a member on our site that just had the 10 year old son of a friend diagnosed with leukemia the day after thanksgiving. As a parent I could never imagine being in that mothers shoes and I tear up just thinking about what they must be facing in the near future. This member is holding a Fundraiser at there collage (Medix) this coming Friday. I will be donation a cake to help raise some money for the expenses this family is sure to face in the near future. They will be auctioning it off. I just wanted to put it out there that if anyone had anything they would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated I am sure. It could be something they could sell or a simple cash donation would be awesome. If you are interested please just PM me and donations can be dropped off to me before Thursday so that it can be picked up with the cake. They didnt ask me to put this out there they were not looking for anything other then a cake that they were willing to pay for. It was privately PMd to me but I feel like everyone on this site has come together so much in the face of cancer to help support us in the relay for life and to make cakes in memories of those we have lost that it would be great if anyone who has the means to would help rally around this family and support them in this battle. It would be nice to be able to one day down the road make this child a cake to celebrate his remission. Thank you everyone!
