For the first time, on this day, my Ole Mammy opened her eyes and saw a kingdom where there is no hurt. There is no pain, no hunger, no aging, no poverty, no war. Regret and worry are as far away as the Earth from the Sun. Sadness is simply a dim memory. What she sees now is a people filled with love so great that hurt cannot find a place. She sees all the joys of this life multiplied by ten thousand. She sees her long lost husband, and her beloved daughter. But most of all, O most of all, she sees Him. The One from whom life itself flows. The One who makes any hopes for happiness possible. He, who shes read about, believed upon, but has never seen. He who looked upon her as he took His final breath on the cross and said, You are forgiven. She sees Jesus. And not the fragile, human Jesus, bloody and beaten and beautiful. She sees Him in his full glory. A glory so great that there is no choice but to worship Him in His presence. A glory that has forever destroyed her sin. O to see what she sees now. Yes, we will miss her, her smile, her jokes, her ability to put any man to work... But she is far happier now than she will ever be, and because of that, we smile through our tears. Our sorrow is met with a deep, unexplainable joy. Because of that, we simply say, See you soon...
