For the first time this year I was involved in operation shoebox. We didnt have fancy boxes like in this video, no money for that, we collected shoe boxes from shoe shops and covered them in Christmas paper and filled them with important things, pens and pencils, note books, balls, small toys, play jewellery, torches, toothbrushes, even gift cards for the bigger things like cricket bats and footballs and shoes that wouldnt fit into the shoe boxes and were delivered in larger boxes. The operation has been going on in several countries for years. To us it seemed so little but when the videos come back we see the boxes have a huge impact. Even the boxes are treasured as most children dont have somewhere secret to store their precious things. This is an older video and they have the fancy printed boxes but it gives you the idea incase, like me, you are new to the idea of operation shoebox.
