For the last 13 days in a row we have been working hard in the field and campaigning in every part of Osun state for our candidate in saturdays governorship election, Senator Iyiola Omisore. The truth is that I have never campaigned for as long and as hard as this in my entire life for anyone or in any election. It has been a wonderful experience and I have no doubt that we shall prevail. This evening we are all leaving Osogbo and relocating back to our respective hometowns and political bases in the state because, by law, all campaigns for saturdays election must end by 12.00 midnight tonight. Consequently I have just arrived in Ile-Ife and I will spend the next 24 hours quietly with my family members, my kinsmen, our local party leaders and our governership candidate. Much of that time will be spent writing, praying and resting. On saturday we shall all march out to vote and I urge every single son and daughter of Osun to vote for my friend, brother and kinsman Iyiola Omisore. I honestly believe that he will make an excellent governor despite the desperate attempt by our opponents and collective detractors to demonise and malign him. That is their style and we have all suffered from their wicked and evil characterisations, abuse and insults at one time or the other. Yet we must soldier on regardless and focus on winning firmly in the knowledge that this election is perhaps the most strategically important in terms of its timing and the implications of its result for the people of Osun state and rest of the south west. With this one in the bag the PDP is set to take the rest of yorubaland back, including Lagos state. Let us make that happen by winning saturdays governorship election. Let us all vote for Otunba Iyiola Omisore and let us deliver our state from the hands of the Haramites and their Al Qaeda friends.
