For the last few weeks my church in Benton County has been talking about the 80% unchurched in Fayetteville. I found that curious but got the source of the figures from my church. Then I discovered that some other churches in other states are looking to come to Benton and Washington County to plant churches, which made me even more curious. So, taking my churchs sources I decided to look at the landscape and here is what I found. Out of the major metropolitan areas near us, Springfield, Mo, Tulsa, Ok, Okla City, Ft. Smith, Conway, and Joplin, Mo., Oklahoma city has the very highest percentage of churched and Benton County has the very Lowest of churched of all those named. As it turned out, Fayetteville is actully about 5% higher than Benton County. I apologize for late night trivia, but I was having trouble sleeping.
