For the last several days, Ive seen the same picture of a Muslim man hugging a crying little girl. The caption talks about how theyre systematically killing children and Christians, leading you to believe that the picture was taken just before she was killed. Ive also seen it announced that he was marrying her and keeping her as a slave. As the parent of two little girls, I have been absolutely SICK over the image and those thoughts. I havent been able to get her out of my mind and have imagined what her parents must have felt like to be hopeless to help her. Ive wondered how many other little girls she represents. Ive prayed and have shed tears over the sick minds that could do such a thing. So...Im absolutely JUST AS SICKENED to see this video and to see that its not true. Someone used this video and made this little girl the poster child for atrocities. Heres the thing, though. When you do something like that, it needs to be TRUE, or it undermines the argument. It casts doubt on the very real and evil things that are happening in the Middle East. And it makes someone like me, who relies on the news and articles such as the ones Ive read to inform me to want to chuck it all. Dont read - dont listen - its all propaganda anyway. Theyre just manipulating us. Theyre probably lying... I could make a lot of points here, but my overriding concern is that we cant afford to have doubt in our minds. We cant afford to stick our heads in the sand. The world is changing rapidly and we truly need to be informed. Its so important for our families - and for people across the world. I pray this little girl is safe and well. And I pray for the mind and heart that would use her and a man who seems to be innocent (based on their own source) to further their message. There are REAL ATROCITIES happening. There is REAL EVIDENCE. There is no need to fake it or embellish. The truth doesnt need our help.
