For the last ten days sterling has been going nowhere fast, hovering mostly between €1.17 and €1.18. It was doing that again at the end of last week, allowing the pound to start this morning less than a dozen ticks adrift from Friday morning/s opening level. Sterling was similarly unchanged against the US dollar and the Swiss franc. It was fractionally lower against the commodity dollars, losing half a cent to the Kiwi and the Aussie and somewhat less than that to the Loonie*. The Japanese yen and Swedish krona led the way, strengthening by the equivalent of three quarters of a euro cent against the pound.
