For the last three sessions (at least) of the Texas lege, bills to simply allow a medical need defense of a possession charge have been filed. None have made it to the floor for a debate in the republican ruled legislature. What are they afraid of? Not only do Texas republican politicians ignore the harms they are causing and the money they are wasting, they dont even want to have a serious discussion about better policies. Their motivation seems to be pure political greed. Thats immoral. A true statesman makes his case to their electorate when bad policy is discovered. Here, Texas republicans lack the courage to do so. If they think the status quo is such good policy, they should allow it to be debated, publicly, and make their case about why it should continue. But Texas republican politicians arent statesmen at all. They are immoral, greedy, authoritarian cowards.
