For the last year I followed two heavily trafficked photography facebook pages. One was for photoshop and lightroom, the second was film photographers. The latter hands down has the most interesting and technically sound images. The former… oaf so. much. no. Truly if you want to pursue photography slow down, pay attention to your composition, stop thinking you can fix everything in post, maybe shoot some film till you get your exposures nailed down. Id argue digital imagery has opened the flood gates of amateurs looking for accolades because they bought a bunch of gear. For every great piece I saw on the photography lightroom page there were a dozen that were just inexcusable dreck. Unfollowed. Call me a snobby luddite but I like people who take the effort to formally understand their craft not just expect to fix their mistakes in software after the fact. Film forevah. :)
