For the most part, I dont usually post things on Facebook (usually dont have much to say). This time is a bit different. My band program ( Boerne High) has been doing very well and has really started to take ownership of the show. I am very proud how this group has accepted my philosophy and has started to trust me as we start our next adventure. This from a person that thought would never teach especially at a high school level. Out of my 16 year career I have seen and learned so much from not only the people I have worked with but all the students I had the honor of teaching from United, Jay, and Boerne. As I reflect back about the last few years, I realize we do not always take the time to thank the people who help us along the way. Thank you to John Mallon, Joe Castro, Frank Lozano, Andy Phillips for teaching me what it really means to be a teacher and staying true to yourself and staying the course. Ben Chasan and Kevin Arnott for being great mentors. Sorry for being sappy. I hope as I start the 2nd half of my career, that I keep growing like my students, keep changeling myself like my students have ( in a good way), and remember to have some fun along the way. Sometime we take things way to serious. As many of you know, we will be performing Things that Go Pop this season and would like to invite everyone to come out to our UIL Marching Contest on Saturday October 18th in Hondo. Take care all.
