For the next several months I shall be in the receiving line at the Post Office as amazon and alibris will be substituting for the lack of a decent English language bookstore in Jerusalem. The Hebrew University used to have a small English section, but since its reorganization under new management has left the realm of decent to incompetent. Not the fault of those who work there, but to the people who run the shops for a profit. I have a bunch of books on Economics coming along with 2 books on medical subjects, and 4 books related to academic religious material. Where I have been working had some visitors from Canada come through and a conversation renewed about a subject from when I belonged to the Society of Biblical Literature. It is a subject that touches on both Jewish history and the Gospel narrative. The conflict theory and the Bar Kochba revolt. This deals with events from far away and long ago. That war is over and it is only the conflict theory that is still alive.
