For the nth time, Bongbong speaks on dads burial by Ryan Chua, ABS-CBN News Posted at 09/22/2014 7:25 PM | Updated as of 09/22/2014 8:08 PM MANILA - The question is asked of him each time the anniversary of the martial law declaration comes: What does he think of a heros burial for his father, the late former President Ferdinand Marcos? The position of the family has not changed, Senator Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. told reporters on Monday. It is our continuing belief that as a soldier who fought heroically against the invaders in the Second World War and as the longest sitting president, it is my fathers right to be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Marcos also clarified that his family did reject Vice President Jejomar Binays recommendation that his father be buried in Ilocos Norte with full military honors. Despite President Aquino administrations opposition, Marcos still hopes he would see a heros burial for his father. Were hoping that at any point, he would change his mind and the true spirit of reconciliation will finally come through and we will follow the rules as they have been laid out determining who is to be buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani, he said.
