For the past 2 years there have been many opportunities to attend public information sessions and council meetings including the one with a petition with several thousands of names to save the Riverside Park Dam presented to Council. Many private citizens have spent countless hours researching this project and dissecting the reports of the consultants hired by Council. Tom Stanley has been there, and nowhere to be seen are the other 3 candidates that are running in this ward. Haven’t seen any of them at the meetings for their support to speak out on our behalf from Riverside Park Dam, Community Garden, Fountain St. reconstruction, Preston business improvement PIC, Limerick Rd. Development, and budget discussions at Council meetings etc. We need a person like Tom Stanley that has a track record for standing up for the many local issues that are present and did so at these gatherings. My question is, where were these other 3 candidates when all of this was going on? How can they possibly be of benefit to this riding while not coming forth in the last 2 years to show support on behalf of the many other people in their own constituency. If they weren’t in touch, they obviously haven’t read any of the local newspapers that have carried the events for that period of time.
