For the past 4 months, a large group of Vancouvers homeless have been camping at the infamous Oppenheimer park in the Downtown Eastside. Considered a protest camp-out, this migration has sprouted in response to the lack of safe and secure social housing throughout downtown Vancouver. A little over a week ago, the BC Supreme Court ruled an eviction notice to all protesters. Each and everyone of the parks residents are now being evicted and will gone by the end of today. What has been done about the underlying issue? So far, nothing yet. Welcome home.
