For the past nineteen plus years our family home has rested on an acre of ground that is surrounded by farm land. Our southern property line borders CSX’s railroad right away where two sets of tracks provide the passage way for over sixty trains a day loaded with cargo. Simply put we have been surrounded and witnessed God’s powerful testimony of His abundant supply of natural resources and the giftedness He has endowed we who are created in His image to creatively take those supplies to be useful in so many ways. Each day everyone is surrounded by God’s authentic evidence and His powerful provisionary power not only to created life but His abundant ability to sustain it. How blessed are we to be surrounded by the demonstrations of His awesome majesty. If that were not enough we are blessed to live far enough away from city lights that on a clear night we can gaze into the heavens and be reminded just how small an acre of land really is when compared to vast universe that stretches beyond one’s ability to imagine. It was no wonder that David, the King of the Jews, once wrote; “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” (Psalms 8:1-4) Lord, this is the day that you have made (within all of creation) and I am only a witness of only the smallest fraction Your creative power, so may I be reminded to rejoice and be gland in this day in it with a humble and grateful heart. Thank You, amen.
