For the past several days I have been planning how I would handle it if my landlord showed up this morning with demolition equipment as strongly implied in the letter he sent us in May informing us of his plan to change the use of this property. Last night I received the nicest e-mail from him. He thanked us for all the things we did for his elderly parents over the last 20 years and he expressed good wishes for our future. Amazing --- but wonderful. Ill take it. This week Rocky and I FINALLY realized that the only way we would accomplish the monster task of moving our farm is by TAKING DAYS OFF WORK. We both did and things look a lot better than before. We still have (astoundingly) a lot to move and do, but it is beginning to look like we will survive this. The bid Sam the Real Estate Maniac made on our dream house was turned down as being too low, but Sam is a border collie, He will not be turned aside. He is working on another offer and a comprehensive plan of attack. I hate cliff hangers, but we seem to be living one. This is awful, but not nearly as bad as the people in central Washington who are trying to think WHAT to do as they sift through ashes for anything that might have survived or make arrangements to have carcasses of much loved animals removed. We will be okay.
