For the past three days, my husband, Bill, has been working on picking clusters of wild grapes and making wild grape jelly. He picked a large bucket full two days ago. Made his first batch of jelly yesterday. Then, this afternoon, he decided to go back out to the family farm where he picked another large bucket full. He has been sitting in the kitchen for the past two hours picking off the grapes from each large cluster. I imagine tomorrow, he will make up his second batch of wild grape jelly. Bless his efforts. But, what is kind of funny is, he gives most of what he makes away to others or it ends up sitting in a cupboard in the basement. And, the two of us end up using very little of his jelly, which actually tastes very good! During the days I managed the W. W. Mayo House, I made many batches of aebleskivers for school children to taste and wild grape jelly was the topping I used for these special Danish treats.
