For the past three months Ive been filling out this survey at least once a day that asks me details about what Im doing, how productive Im being, and how much sleep I got, just to name a few. The goal is to figure out what makes me happy. Its called Track your Happiness. Track Your Happiness was created as part of this guy Matt Killingsworth’s doctoral research at Harvard University. At the end of the survey period all your data is compiled into your own personal report. They chart all kinds of stuff out against how happy you felt at the moment -- how productive you were, how much sleep you got, what you were doing, where you were, how many people you were with, and so on. Ive learned a few things that surprised me. I always considered myself a really introverted person, and yet I consistently reported significantly higher feelings of happiness when with people. And not just one or two people. I reported the highest feelings of happiness when interacting with groups of three or more. This has given me pause. Its been a really interesting endeavor.
