For the records; Goodluck Jonathan, PhD, co-authored a [scholarly] paper titled, Identification of West African estuarine shrimp and crab larvae, with Powell, C.B. and Hart, A.I., and the paper was presented in 1985 at the 4th Annual Conference of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria. At the time, Jonathan was a lecturer at the Biology Department, College of Education, Port-Harcourt. I have read a few [Jonathanian] bloggers who passed this as Jonathans MSc thesis. An attempt to prove Jonathans scholastic achievements, since his PhD has recently been questioned (see one of the blogs here ndibenonso.blogspot.nl/2014/12/msc-thesis-written-by-goodluck-jonathan.html?spref=fb&fb_ref=Default&fb_source=message&m=1). They are wrong. In this paper, Jonathans MSc thesis is listed number 7 on the references page: Jonathan, G.E. (1984). Stage I larvae of fresh and brackish water decaped crustaceans (excluding Natantial) of the Niger Delta. M.S.c Dissertation in Hydrobiology and Fisheries Biology, University of Port-Harcourt. Although Im yet to see Jonathans PhD dissertation, this 1985 paper he co-authored with other scholars suggests the preparedness for PhD. I will therefore urge those bloggers and Jonathans supporters not to further reduce him to this. This is a post MSc paper and not Msc. Now, will Jonathans supporters thank me for this clarification? *You can download the paper, here: aquaticcommons.org/3411/
