For the second time in as many months, Sassys new limousine had become a hearse. I had that magnetic sticker on the trunk custom made for her back in 2008 and it was always on her car. This last time, Sassy rode in the back of her car instead of riding shotgun by my side. I finally found the strength to get out of bed and drive to AVS to pick up her body late this morning and take her up to Greenbreir Memory Gardens. The AVS bill was horrendous, but they did have the mercy to take several expensive charges off the bill- including the 2nd and 3rd resuscitation attempt. They made a plaster paw print from her and placed her in a cardboard transportation coffin at no extra charge. I so wanted this to be the most agonizing nightmare I ever had and I would just wake up from it, but it was still real. So distraught I could barely drive. I couldnt bear to drive alone, so stopped back at my house to pick up Ozzy to ride shotgun and keep me company the rest of the way to Greenbreir. I am so grateful to have Ozzy for companionship. He helped distract me from some of the pain and the Greenbrier staff loved the outgoing and friendly Spot-monster. Ozzy seems to be a natural therapy dog. He is now the senior of the house. Ozzy being only five, I hope I will have a very, very long time before I have to go through this kind of torment again.
