For those 1.7 people wondering at my relative absence from active - TopicsExpress

For those 1.7 people wondering at my relative absence from active commenting on Facebook, I just wanted to clarify that I was giving Bangalore another shot at snarling me up in traffic - a question of sinful stomach, as they say in these parts in the local language. But this time Bangalore surprised me. Pleasantly. Everywhere that I had to go, I reached with time to spare. The autowalas did not show any attitude or haggle over price or quote kings ransoms to travel nanokilometers, but instead instantly agreed to go wherever I wanted at whatever time, and switched on their meters without any threats or coercion on my part. The cabs were always on time, all the cab drivers were polite and spoke decent Hindi or English, the app worked perfectly (a huge shout out to Olacabs for this), and I was dropped to my destinations with a minimum of fuss. The work meetings went off without a hitch, some new exciting prospects materialized, and it was wonderful to meet old friends and relatives - ranging from older and wiser uncles to younger and still wiser nieces. Plus a wonderful barbecue that was the perfect icing on a totally delicious cake. All the flights were caught with plenty of time and no panic, security did not pull me out for any random checks, and the planes departed and arrived on time, taking off and landing smoothly each time with hardly a bump. Oh, and I didnt ever need to put on the monkey cap I had carried in anticipation of cold, harsh winter nights. If this is what they mean by global warming and the doomsday that the world is heading for, then Im all for it.
