For those asking if I follow Islam & those wondering what my association is with Islam : Coming from a staunch Hindu Maharaj/Brahman family , In the early seventies my mother was a nurse and worked horrendous shifts , myself and my 2 siblings were taken care of by a elderly Muslim neighbour who we called Chachi , we followed her rules , she even dressed us in hijab (dress,pants&scarf) and sent us to madresa (mosque), before which we went to Hindi school ..... My parents didnt mind in the least as they felt there was no harm in learning about other religious values ,my mum was not of very good health and she always swore by giving eggs and bread to the poor that sat outside a local mosque every Friday as well as a chadar which she took us to put on the Basha Peer , I vaguely remember the Molana (priest) blessing us with peacock feathers on a Friday even though she was a practising Hindu .... She even went to church on many occasions to light a candle for Mother Mary .... I may not fully follow Islam nor Christianity but my mum and Chachi taught us to RESPECT ALL #God #Allah Aur #Bagwan ne banaya Ek INSAAN ❤️ #humanity #FreePalestine
