For those attending Anderson Union High School, Wednesday was all about the gold, silver and bronze medallions presented to top contestants during Ag Olympics, an event that celebrates FFA Week. During lunch, Anderson FFA Chapter members set up five different games of skill or physical endurance and timed each participant. FFA Week is celebrated by 579,678 students in 7,570 local FFA chapters throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to the National FFA web site. The week-long tradition of promoting agriculture education started in 1948 and runs from the Saturday before to the Saturday after President George Washington’s birthday on Feb. 22.
