For those following my dads story, after two trial runs going home for overnites, he went home for good today (we hope). Hes actually sharper of mind now than he was before all this started, and somehow wisened by it all. His body has some catching up to do, but he seems determined. We count it a miracle that at his age after essentially being lost to us for over two weeks, and counter to all expert prognoses, dad has returned to us...sort of Like Indiana Jones dad Henry. Except dad wasnt shot by bullets he was shot by dilaudid pain medication and a big dose of hospital trauma. Thanks for the prayers, the thoughts, and the stories of your varied experiences. It all gave us extra reason to keep advocating and fighting for dads healing. P.S. Dad made such an impression on the floor he was in that he wants to go back and volunteer. Imagine that! P.P.S. Be sure that if your senior parents end up in emergency rooms, that they use medications your parents have effectively used before, and in only minimal doses.
